About Jesse Ortiz

To put it bluntly, I have come from nothing. My childhood is practically non-existent, and I have endured a lifetime of neglection and abuse from people who were addicted to drugs. I lived in a situation just above abject poverty. I was bullied and struggled with mental health issues for years. I won't go through the whole sob story, as I am not looking for nor do I need sympathy. I am simply showing the contrast of where I was to where I am now. Despite the fact that I have gone through some horrible things, I had the willpower and the drive to make something of myself. I was able to make it into my college of choice, and even more into the honors college. I am not afraid of hard work, in fact, I welcome it. I love to work my mind and enjoy overcoming any challenge that comes my way. I'm not afraid to work any job no matter how menial it may seem, as I just need to be able to support myself. I have done a little bit of training in public finance, and have some experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Publisher. I have some knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and am known by my teachers to be good at public speaking/presenting as well as creative writing. I also happen to be CPR Certified.
