About Jesse Savage

Dr. Jesse J. Savage earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Biology from Purdue University and his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Savage completed his residency in Neurological Surgery at University of Virginia under the direction and mentorship of Dr. John Jane, Sr. His international fellowship training in Cerebrovascular and Cranial Base Surgery was completed at the Auckland City Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Professor at IU School of Medicine and Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine. Dr. Savage maintains a multifaceted clinical focus. In the area of neuro-oncology, he specializes in cranial base tumors, including pituitary tumors, meningiomas, schwannomas, and chordomas. His expertise also extends to cerebrovascular disorders, aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), carotid occlusive disease, and stroke. Dr. Savage holds an interest in the diagnosis and treatment of adult degenerative spinal disorders, spinal AVMs, neurotrauma, epilepsy, cranial nerve disorders, and peripheral nerve disease. Dr. Savage's research interests include the molecular mechanisms underpinning the development and regulation of cranial base tumors and cerebrovascular disorders. Specifically, he’s authored numerous publications that address the development and regulation of the pituitary gland and hopes to continue to investigate the molecular etiology of Cushing's Disease, as well as AVMs. Dr. Savage is a proud husband to Mrs. Amy R. Savage from Yorktown, Indiana, and father of Alexander, Atticus, Ashford, and Arthur Savage.
