About Jesse Young

I’m a brewer, educator, and community leader dedicated to building stronger communities through craft, culture, and connection. I currently serve as a City Councilmember for Black Diamond, WA, where I advocate for responsible growth, small business development, and public spaces that bring people together. My leadership style is grounded in listening, service, and common-sense solutions that reflect both the needs of today and a thoughtful vision for tomorrow. In the craft beer world, I work as a Beertender at Imbibe Bottlehouse & Taproom, offering knowledgeable, friendly service to a diverse range of beer, cider, and wine enthusiasts. I also spent four years as an Assistant Brewer at Flying Bike Cooperative Brewery, where I helped develop award-winning beers and improve production efficiency and quality. In 2015, I founded Abrosis School of Brewing, an educational platform where I teach homebrewers the art, science, and history of fermentation. My classes blend hands-on technique with storytelling, covering everything from brewing fundamentals to the anthropology of beer. I love empowering people to create, connect, and brew with intention. Currently, I’m also in the process of building a new brewpub business—an inclusive, welcoming space rooted in tradition, hospitality, and a deep respect for craft. My goal is to create something that feels like home, serves its community well, and reflects the values I’ve carried through every role I’ve held. Whether through public service, a pint, or a classroom, my mission is the same: to welcome people in, spark curiosity, and leave them better than they came.
