About Jessica Acker

I'm Jessica Acker and I am making a career transition into the field of data analytics from a role as a general manager of an optometry clinic. I have over eight years of professional experience in multiple roles across several industries ranging from healthcare and laboratory jobs to sales and college admissions. I'm a problem solver at heart with sharp analytical skills and a love of working with data and spreadsheets. As a seasoned manager, I'm highly capable leading others and working as a part of a team. Some of my colleagues jokingly refer to me as an overachiever, but I like to think of myself as highly adaptable and dedicated to delivering only the highest quality results. One of my favorite things about my career thus far has been helping people. In some of my previous roles, I helped perspective college students navigate the complexities and stresses of college applications. In my most recent role at an optometry clinic, I improved the quality of life of the patients that came into the office every day by helping them see better and by making sure that the quality of care they received exceeded industry standards. Today, I am dedicating time to upskilling my technical skills and expanding my data analytics project portfolio to make my transition into data analytics a reality. This includes continuing to build my knowledge of SQL, R and Excel, while also branching out into Python programming and incorporating the study of data engineering concepts in the near future.
