About Jessica B Watson

In my professional life I have two passions: Architecture and Textiles. I grew up on the Northern Beaches in Sydney, received a Masters Degree in Textile Art at The Gothenburg University, School for Design and Crafts, and a Masters Degree In Architecture at The University of New South Wales. Did I also mention that I have a Diploma of Textile Design from Ultimo TAFE? You could call me a serial degree-er, though I have promised my family I will not do another degree! Within the field of architecture, I have a passion for, and my experience lies in, residential housing and how it responds to the context in which it is built. I have experience with the requirements of heritage architecture within the wider Sydney Metropolitan area and steep sites in Sydney’s Northern Beaches. I also have a keen eye for colour, form and material. If you design/build generic office or apartment blocks, then I am not the best fit for your team. My skills are best utilised where I can collaborate with clients, designers, builders and consultants who are interested in process, material, context and pushing boundaries.
