About Jessica Bath

I am a physical therapist and PhD candidate in neurorehabilitation at UCSF. My dissertation work in Dr. Doris Wang's lab combines a novel sensing and stimulating DBS device recording neurophysiology data from cortical and subcortical locations with biomechanics and body-worn IMU data to explore the circuits underlying postural instability in people with Parkinson's. I'm skilled with common programming languages (Matlab/R), biomechanics and motion capture technologies (Xsens, Vicon, Qualisys, Delsys, AMTI forceplates), study protocol development and documentation, digital signal processing with neural LFP and ECoG data, providing evidence-based neurological PT interventions and validated tests/measures to patients with varying PD severities (certified in Rock Steady Boxing, LSVT-BIG, PNF, ACSM strength and conditioning specialist), and working in successful multidisciplinary research teams involving engineers, neuroscientists, surgeons and neurologists, and rehabilitation professionals.
