About Jessica Booker

In my youth, I was always a hard worker who was looking for new opportunities to grow. I was an active member of Knights of Peter Cover Ladies Auxiliary's Junior Daughter division. As a Junior Daughter, I learned leadership skills and a good familiarity of Robert's Rules of Order. In my junior year of high school, I worked as an intern at the Department of Family and Support services. In my senior year of high school, I became the first recipient of the Junior African American Heritage Award from the Archdiocese of Chicago (2017) for being an outstanding person of color in the city of Chicago I graduated then moved to Des Moines, Iowa for 5 years. There, I earned my Bachelor's of Science in Psychology. While on campus, I was extremely involved in different student leadership positions such as First Year Representative for the Honors Council and National Pan-Hellenic Council President I also became a member of the Phi chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. While getting my degree, I worked various retail jobs to help ends meet while in school, where I rose in leadership. My most recent retail position, landed an Assistant Manager role at Windsor Fashions. After graduating with my degree, I worked a few jobs different jobs, which led me to my current employment position as a Registered Behavior Technician. Currently, I am in school getting my graduate degree in Social Work from University of Illinois at Chicago, while working part time as a Registered Behavior Technician.
