About Jessica Evans

I am a former journalist and Senior Media Manager with more than ten years’ experience in PR and crisis communications, and as a journalist at leading media outlets in Australia. Most recently I’ve been the Media and Communications Manager for Charles Darwin University managing a busy media team and connecting journalists with national research. I’ve been Epworth HealthCare’s Media Manger across 11 hospital sites in Melbourne and Geelong with more that employees working with doctors, specialists, nurses, midwives and allied health professionals to deliver stories that impact people's everyday lives. And prior to that I was a employed at the Victorian Government’s Department Premier and Cabinet as a Media Advisor for the Police and Water Minister and more broadly across government. I've worked as a reporter for Australia's biggest selling daily newspaper, the Herald Sun, but also at Australia Associated Press (AAP), Network Ten’s The Project and across regional television and print giving me a solid understanding of both the pressure and demands of journalists but how to actually provide the type of content that they need. I work with leading media partners across Australia in digital and mainstream media including print, radio and television including the ABC, The Age, Herald Sun, Channel Nine, Seven, and 10, 3AW, WIN and Nine Regional gaining successful media placements across a variety of outlets. I am a public speaker and have lectured and tutored in journalism and communications at Melbourne University, Deakin and Latrobe Universities speaking on a range of topics including multimedia journalism, crafting news angles and press release writing and all things communication. I am passionate about communication as I believe a clear message is critical for expressing who you are, your values and what you offer to the world at large. And I think there's real value in bringing in an expert to help you do that.
