About Jessica Iegre

After nearly a decade at the bench as a medicinal chemist — including roles at AstraZeneca and the University of Cambridge — I transitioned into business development to focus on what I believe drives the most impactful drug discovery: the right collaborations.Today I lead business development and strategic partnerships at PharmEnable Therapeutics, working at the interface of science, strategy, and collaboration to build high-impact drug discovery partnerships with pharmaceutical, biotech and other key players. My work centres on translating complex scientific innovation into durable external collaborations. I originate and structure discovery partnerships and licensing opportunities, and play a central role in guiding alliances from initial engagement through scientific diligence, deal structuring, negotiation, and the establishment of effective collaboration frameworks. I particularly enjoy the operational side of partnerships—working with cross-functional teams to translate deal terms into robust relationships, align stakeholders, manage risk, and ensure collaborations deliver scientific and strategic value for all partners.With a background spanning drug discovery science and external partnering, I bring a strategic yet hands-on approach to alliance leadership, building trusted relationships that enable complex organisations to work together effectively and accelerate the development of new medicines.Outside work, I love cooking ‍ (I am Italian!), travelling 🧳 and to improvise as an amateur interior designer
