About Jessica Maples-Keller

Jessica Maples-Keller, PhD is licensed clinical psychologist and an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Emory University School of Medicine. She is currently the Associate Director of Research at the Emory Healthcare Veterans Program, core investigator at Grady Trauma Project, and founding member of the Emory Center for Psychedelics and Spirituality. Dr. Maples-Keller has been selected for several honors, including the NIH Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women’s Health Career Development Award Program, the Anxiety and Depression Association of America Donald F. Klein Early Career Investigator Award, American College of Neuropsychopharmacology Travel Award, and the Association for Psychological Science Rising Star Award. Dr. Maples-Keller’s has a program of research investigating the use of translational models to understand and improve exposure-based treatment for PTSD, understanding risk factors of PTSD, and testing novel models of psychedelic-assisted therapy. She currently leads a study investigating MDMA in combination with exposure therapy for PTSD and works on a study investigating spiritual health informed psilocybin-assisted therapy for advanced cancer patients. Dr. Maples-Keller was a study therapist on a psilocybin trial for treatment resistant depression, and currently is a trainer and mentor in psilocybin-assisted therapy. Dr. Maples-Keller also has a program of research in partnership with Dr. Sierra Carter investigating diversity factors within psychedelic-assisted therapy, with a goal of improving access and culturally humility within psychedelic care.
