About Jessie Oldham

Program Coordinator for the History Department at the University of Central Florida. As Program Coordinator, I work closely with most public history projects housed within the department and alongside History faculty to plan and execute history events programming throughout the academic year. I have worked on a number of projects for the Regional Initiative for Collecting the History, Experiences, and Stories of Central Florida (RICHES), including the Bending Towards Justice (https://bendingtowardjustice.cah.ucf.edu) and Paramore projects. I am the Project Manager for UCF's Veterans History Project, which works to honor the experiences of Central Florida veterans by collecting and archiving their oral histories (https://vetstories.cah.ucf.edu). I am also a co-principal investigator on the Veterans Legacy Program, a Veterans Administration-funded project that aims to connect veterans commemorated at national cemeteries to the broader community using cutting-edge technology and innovative pedagogy designed by a collaborative team of university professors, staff, students, and K-12 educators (https://vlp.cah.ucf.edu). Recently, I co-authored the article,"A Veterans Oral History Project: Supporting Veterans Homecoming, Pedagogy, and the Community," for an anthology on Public Humanities, titled The Routledge Companion to Public Humanities Scholarship (2024). I am a double UCF history alum, having received my M.A. in 2022 and my B.A. in 2011. I also completed a B.A. in English literature from UCF in 2011.
