About Jesus Arias

My journey with smart homes and buildings began in 2007 when I was tasked with finding a technology to establish a department for home and building automation. That was my first encounter with KNX—and it was love at first sight. I convinced my manager, completed the KNX Partner course, and became a true believer in the technology. Since then, my KNX journey has been diverse and fulfilling. I've worked as a KNX Partner in system integration, contributed to KNX device development with a KNX Member, and conducted KNX training. I’ve authored books exploring the synergy between KNX and LEED, delivered the first KNX Basic Course in Japan, and led KNX roadshows across Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa, Brazil, China, and India. I was also involved in pioneering projects—delivering the first KNX installations in Seychelles, Kenya, and Ethiopia. One of my most rewarding projects was creating a custom KNX solar controller for my father’s solar thermal installation. Since 2015, I have been actively involved with the KNX Association as a Business Developer, guiding companies to maximize their potential within the expansive KNX ecosystem. I also lead the KNX Startup Incubator, supporting innovation and helping new ideas flourish within the KNX community. Most recently, I’ve been channelling my energy into integrating cutting-edge AI technologies, like large language models (LLMs) and machine learning, into every layer of the smart home and building value chain. From product development and manufacturing to system integration and user experience, my focus is on unlocking new levels of intelligence, personalization, and efficiency. It's an exciting new chapter where KNX meets AI, and I’m proud to help shape how our industry evolves through innovation.
