About Jett Devost

My name is Jett Devost, and I am currently a 4th (and final) year honour’s student studying at the University of Calgary. My research aims to take a qualitative look at the lived experiences of autistic undergraduate students on campus and explore how they navigate and integrate into campus life. My goal for my research is to ensure that my findings and knowledge directly serve the autistic community I work with and am a part of. I have had long term hopes of eventually applying my analytical, logical, and problem-solving skills to social service fields in the realm of forensic psychology. However, my newfound passion for neurodiversity research and awareness have stirred me in a new direction. I want to work in a community-based position that allows me to address challenges I see facing the Canadian criminal justice system (CCJS). One way I hope to be able to do this, is by leveraging my academic knowledge and passion for working with youth (many of which have complex-needs) to proactively address at-risk behaviors and reduce the risk of entering the CCJS.
