About Jian Chen

I have a combined 17 years of experience in medicine and biomedical research. After my surgical oncology training in China, my clinical research focused on esophageal and lung cancer. I received a rigorous training in basic research, specializing in molecular biology and pathology in Japan, where I received my Ph.D. degree. For the past 5 years, I have been working at MD Anderson Cancer Center, a world-renowned hospital for cancer research. I am familiar with many experimental therapeutic methods in cancer research, including gene therapy and genetic analysis of colon cancer, pancreatic cancer and lymphoma.I have experiences working as a lead research scientist and director of a venture company whose business involves translation basic research from university setting to the pharmaceutical industry setting.
