About Jiaxing Chen
Howdy! I am currently a Research Engineer working for SOFEC Inc. Prior to stepping into the industry, I had been involved in offshore engineering and naval architecture study from my undergraduate and graduate education. I graduated with a M.S. degree in Ocean Engineering at Texas A&M University. I am capable of conducting challenging research studies given my solid academic background, diligent attitude, responsibility, and cooperation. I'm familiar with several engineering software (OrcaFlex, Ansys, SolidWorks) and programming languages (MATLAB, python). I have worked on multiple O&G projects as a mooring engineer. Also, I have been actively studying floating offshore wind turbine and analyzing its global performance in detail in terms of motion and mooring tension response. I am a lifelong learner and I have a strong interest in data science and machine learning. I have completed and am taking some DS/ML courses online. I am very much looking forward to applying this new set of knowledge to work.
