About Jill C.

With 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, I bring a well-rounded and deeply rooted understanding of both the brokerage and underwriting sides of the business. My career began in service and sales as an insurance broker, where I worked extensively across personal and commercial lines and was entrusted with in-house underwriting responsibilities. I’ve also led a team of 10 across two busy offices—an experience that sharpened my ability to support others, navigate pressure, and lead without needing a title. Two years ago, I made the transition to the company side as a commercial property underwriter—a role I’ve embraced with genuine enthusiasm. I thrive on the analytical side of underwriting, enjoy researching risks, and take pride in applying sound judgment to rating complex commercial classes. I bring strong communication and negotiation skills to the table, and I’m known for being a collaborative, empathetic colleague who shows up for others. I hold the CAIB designation, an HR certificate, and am currently pursuing my CIP with just two courses remaining. My journey has been shaped by curiosity, adaptability, and a drive to continually refine how I contribute to this industry I’ve grown with and still love.
