A Keen Chief Hitting my stride is not something I think about. Doing something with confidence and effectiveness is fine but becoming comfortable with something is not a value I associate with myself. I value listening and learning and the insight I glean as a result. I value advocacy and incisive decision-making. I am aware of how valued I am as a member of the C-Suite and know how I got here, but it's a keen sense of curiosity that sustains me. I make sure the trains are on the track. I'm willing to do the hard things. I am a keen measure of myself. Drive accompanies me as I navigate the years of explosive growth and complexity successfully within our company. Passion attends the heights I excel and exceed in my career; along with a gift to "see" opportunities insightfully, then analyze, identify, and apply smart solutions to the enterprise. Accompanied by a superbly talented legal and product team, we deliver thoughtful solutions-finding practices to our global investment teams across multiple business and asset classes. The legal team goes beyond advice and counseling to form a collaborative partnership enterprise-wide to mitigate legal and business risks and manage them. I am very motivated to find justice, and advocate for equity. Human rights and civic engagement are the foundation of who I am and what I believe; primarily in support of women and girls. I launched The Barings Women's Network as a member of our executive leadership, and proud to serve as a Board Member for Girls on the Run, Charlotte, in our community. These stellar organizations help to foster an inclusive culture to instill equity for women and girls where they live and work. Advocacy is woven into my personal and professional life seamlessly and sustainably. Works that inspire me in life are magical, meaningful, and influential. It is not easy for me to write and characterize the scope of my career and I rarely take the time to sit back and measure what I do, but I am keenly aware of the impact I have in what I practice day-to-day and do not take it lightly. I value my job as Chief Legal Officer and Head of Product Management as highly as the roles I engage in advocacy for equity and in the community where I live: as a leader, non-profit board member, community member, religious participant, mentor to women and girls, and supportive wife and mother of 2. At the end of the day, everything I engage in is deeply inspiring and incredibly magical to me.
