About Jill Henderson

In the course of working for leading international US, Canada and European non-profit art organizations for over twenty years in communications & marketing, visual & design brand management, art education, curating, gallerist, artist, researcher, and more. I have honed skills in communications, public speaking, recruitment, marketing, project management, strategic planning, working with tight budgets and collaborating with diverse groups of people. These experiences have enabled me to cultivate great working relationships with international partners and create and work on successful projects and campaigns resulting in measurable increases in awareness, publicity, attendance for exhibitions, education programs and fundraising events that I have worked on. Abilities Proven ability to interact confidently with a variety of different publics, in groups both large and small, and well-tested public speaking and pedagogical skills. Strategic and critical thinking abilities. The ability to brainstorm ideas with co-workers to find creative and engaging new methods of communications, marketing strategies and community outreach. I have demonstrated ability to put into practice interpretative methods that enhance art viewing experience and promote critically engaged discussion. Development and recruitment of team members, volunteer/internship program, and guided visit/learning programs, leading group activities and group discussions, and providing engaging progress reports. I increased the length and level of volunteer commitment by expanding the areas of volunteer interaction and participation, thus resulting in lower turnover of team members. Recent experience: Panelist, Canadian Museum Association Annual Conference, presentation on 'Building New Citizen and Diverse Audiences’, in association with the Institute for Canadian Citizenship.
