About Jill Rizzo
My floral career began nearly 25 years ago as I fashioned posies from scrap bin blooms in my mother's flower shop. My childhood was spent in Rhode Island, learning the difference between roses and ranunculus in the shops of my mother, aunt, and uncle. I studied illustration at Parsons School of Design, where I was trained in the importance of color relationships and negative space. This would later influence my approach to floral design; regarding each arrangement as a painting or composition. Following graduation, I decided to try life out West where I fell in love with the amazing flora available year-round and my passion for flowers was re-ignited. I started Studio Choo Florists in 2009 in San Francisco and have written two books on floral design:"The Flower Recipe Book" and "Branches and Blooms (previously titled The Wreath Recipe Book)". In 2015 I relocated to Rhode Island and am in the process of opening Studio Choo East. We are available for weddings and events, weekly delivery services, and private classes and workshops starting in 2017.
