About Jill Rykken

I show up every day as my genuine self, and I'm fortunate that some of greatest strengths have helped shape the path of my career. I'm an excellent communicator, I have been since childhood when I was put at my own table in first grade so I wouldn't disrupt my classmates - Thankfully I've learned to not be disruptive and instead have put my ability to clearly communicate to good use. My exceptional written and verbal communication skills allow me to effectively communicate on all levels within an organization. I started my career in accounting, and quickly learned that I appreciate efficiency and accuracy. I was known for being the person to take overly manual tasks and figure out ways to make them "better", and working on those small side efforts challenged me and brought me a lot of joy. I believe this has helped to foster my growth in project work. My organization, attention to detail, and appreciation for efficiency allows me to lead a more effective team, meet deadlines in a timely manner, and have fun doing it. Involvement in athletics throughout my childhood and in college helped me understand the importance of team dynamics and a strong work ethic. I may be many years removed from a collegiate team setting, but my gratitude for the skills I learned will stay with me throughout my career. Because of those skills I value trust, empathy, and dedication. I create lasting relationships with the people I work with. Everyone learns, communicates, and works differently, and I love to problem solve how to get people to work together most efficiently. As a manager I pride myself in knowing that I am supporting my team members wholistically each day, and I challenge myself regularly to learn and develop, especially as it relates to DEI. Overall I thrive in environments that allow me to work directly with people, problem solve, and create positive change.
