About Jillian Swartz

With over 25 years of experience as a business and technology lawyer, I provide strategic and practical legal advice to clients in a wide range of sectors. I enjoy working closely with my clients to understand their businesses and priorities and building long-term relationships with the goal of becoming a trusted advisor. I provide counsel to owners and senior leaders on critical business agreements, corporate governance issues, privacy and anti-spam compliance, and day-to-day operational issues. A significant portion of my practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital investments and corporate reorganizations. I have advised buyers, sellers and target companies in connection with numerous cross-border transactions and regularly advise clients with respect to their plans to expand into Canada. From July 2012 to June 2021, I was a member of the Board of Governors of Wilfrid Laurier University, serving in a number of roles including as Chair of the Board, Chair of the Governance Committee and Chair of the Executive Committee.
