I am a general counsel and company secretary with over 10 years' experience (18+ PQE) leading teams to deliver value at executive level on corporate governance, risk and legal issues on transactions in excess of £2bn in many jurisdictions including US, UK, Turkey, China, Australia, France, NL and across two different sectors; gambling (mainly product) and engineering (mainly professional services). I have civil code training as well as being English law qualified, having completed a degree at the Sorbonne and worked in France. I lead the most complex / strategically important legal matters on behalf of boards including litigation (up to £350m), M&A (UK and Africa), cross jurisdictional issues and serious health and safety matters. I lead, reshape and transform teams of experienced lawyers, paralegals and other specialists in matrix, hybrid and other organisational structures. I also lead cross-functional teams tackling major changes in law or industry including GDPR, data protection as global head of data privacy at a FTSE 250 gambling company. I have deep experience in compliance including anti-bribery, AML, import / export control having been a chief compliance officer at a FTSE 250 and with global compliance officer remit today. I am very passionate about company's integrity and ethics programmes. Now I am the Global General Counsel for Mobility at Arcadis, acting as principal legal adviser to the Global Mobility Management Team responsible for professional services and product offering in up to 8 jurisdictions globally. I am the chief compliance officer and chief privacy officer for Arcadis' mobility business globally.
