Jim Allan’s background and experience include over 25 years in the commercial banking industry in Florida. He served in the Michigan Air National Guard as an Accounting and Finance Officer. After many years of commercial banking experience, and President of a unit bank within a holding company, he came to Sarasota from Michigan in 1984. He was an organizer and President of a new, independent bank being formed. After several successful years, the bank was profitably sold, and Jim continued working in key commercial lending and management positions. Jim holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and Economics and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Michigan. His commercial banking experience has given him insight into a wide variety of businesses, in both Sarasota and Manatee Counties. In 2009, Jim obtained his Associates license and entered business brokering to capitalize on his extensive contacts and experience in the Sarasota/Manatee/Charlotte County business communities. In 2013 he obtained his Brokers license. He understands complex business transactions, and has a reputation for working relentlessly to make deals work.
