About Jim Barton

After years working as a software developer and analyst, I found what I really wanted to do. As a public reference librarian I leverage my skills in technology, research, and my teaching ability to help people navigate a changing world of information. In my new role, managing my library's collection of physical and electronic items, I get to really tie everything together. Statistics, usage analysis, and budget management combine with softer skills such as keeping in touch with our customers to see what they really want and staying on top of trends in entertainment and education. I'm passionate about helping people get what they need; whether punching up a resume, learning Excel Pivot Tables, or discovering an awesome new Fantasy series. My reward is their confidence and satisfaction.
