About Jim Boatwright

I currently work at LINK Engineering Company in Plymouth Michigan USA. LINK is a global leader in the design and manufacturing of production & test equipment, and provides testing services at locations around the world. LINK Motor stator lacers, spring testers, brake & transmission dynamometers, wet friction testers (think transmission clutches) etc. We work very closely the automotive, aerospace, and railway manufacturing & R&D industries, as well as many other industries that you wouldn't really expect. The fact is, any company that manufactures a product most likely will need equipment to test and further refine the development of that product. That's where we come in. I joined LINK Engineering Company in 1988. I began my career with Link working as an electronic technician. This quickly progressed into commissioning and servicing this equipment worldwide. As both LINK & my career grew, I became the Customer Service Manager. There I helped to develop and lead the LINK service & validation teams. I have spent countless time learning how to troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic control systems, with a strong commitment toward root cause analysis and continuous improvement of our design and manufacturing process. I continued to manage and develop the service group for many years. I also worked hard to develop our ISO-17025 calibration capabilities & certifications. My current roll is the Technical Service Manager. I continue to work with our technical staff, developing training material & mentoring technicians. I frequently work on special projects along with our mechanical, electrical & software engineering groups. I often travel to our global offices to work on special projects, further refining our global technical groups. LINK is dedicated to building machines at a very high level of quality and reliability. Attention to safety, accuracy, robust & reliable design is a constant goal. I really enjoy my job and can’t imagine working for a better company or with a better collection of colleagues!
