About Jim Bogner

Prior to begining my career in Law Enforcement I majored in SPEA at Indiana University Northwest. I have dedicated my life to service of others and my community. I interned /worked on a Domestic Violence Grant with the Hammond Police Department. I served as an Emergency Medical Technitian in the Lake County Jail. I then went to the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy Class 97-131 where I was taught basic skills for my job. During the course of my career I have had numerous continued education classes through numerous school such as Indiana University School of Medicine, Merrilliville Swat School, FTO School, Bike Patrol School, Homicide and Crime Scene classes, Major Crime Scene, and assorted universities and training groups. I have participated as a NET Neighborhood Enforcement Team Officer, Detective, Northwest Indiana Major Crimes Team Detective, SWAT / Emergency Response Team Member, Bike Patrol Unit, FTO Field Training Officer and other facets of the police department.I am currently a Supervisor in the Uniform Patrol Division. During the course of my career I have apprehended serveral hundreds of idividuals and filed numerous charges in both Misdemeanor & Felony Courts. I have received numerous letters of Commendation such as Patrolman of the Year and Lake County Outstanding Achievement in Law Enforcement. In addition to my regular duties I Supervised security details for various Corporations / Businesses. My current responsibilities include being a Violent Crimes Task Force Officer for the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives.
