About Jim Dodson

Jim began his career in 1984 after graduating college; receiving his property license and handling catastrophe claims for an independent adjusting firm. From 1986 to 1989, Jim also worked in the commercial concrete business managing up to 40 people in the making of architectural concrete for commercial wall panels and highway beams for the State of Texas. Jim has extensive knowledge of batch designs, concrete strengths and cable elongation. His work can be found in One Shoreline Plaza, Corpus Christi, Tx, the 3M Building and the Arboretum Complex, Austin, Tx, Beltway 8, Houston, Tx. and throughout the highways in the state. Upon leaving that industry, he began his career in the field of independent adjusting. As an adjuster at ABJ Adjusters, Inc. Jim handled property and first/third party liability claims. He worked for GAB and Crawford & Company before making the move to the company side in 1995. Jim accepted a position with USAA in the elite foundation unit and handled foundation claims for almost 11 years. Jim was a well-respected member of the foundation unit for USAA earning a reputation industry-wide for his integrity and professionalism in the field. Nine years ago, Jim made the move back to an independent firm joining VeriClaim, Inc, handling large commercial losses. He worked as an account administrator for several national accounts. As a result of his work ethic Jim was nominated and named an Honorary Kentucky Colonel by the State of Kentucky. An honor reserved solely for men who exhibit outstanding leadership, integrity and business ethics in their chosen field and personal lives. In 2009, Jim accepted a position with McLarens, becoming a shareholder and valued member of the McLarens team. In the Fall of 2014, Jim accepted the position as Managing Director of Charles Taylor Adjusting's Houston office. During his 30 years as an adjuster Jim has handled in excess of 500m in claims across the country. He is licensed and/or approved in 38 states.
