About Jim Dunning

Some of my earliest memories involve our family’s wholesale distribution center, a pillar of the local business community for more than 150 years. Without realizing it, I grew up in world exposed to leadership, sales, and marketing each and every day - not from lectures or a textbook, but from my family’s actions and behaviors - core values passed on from generation to generation. Working for one of the world’s largest credit card lenders allowed me to explore and refine my skillset. As my sales appetite grew I transitioned from banking to the wireless industry, a natural fit considering my curiosity of anything electronic. Over time, the thrill of the close evolved from instant gratification, to lasting relationships based on best fit scenarios. When I earned a leadership position I found sharing the techniques of my success to be even more rewarding than my own. As I grew older and spent more and more time outdoors hiking and climbing, my concern for our natural resources grew stronger and stronger. After nearly ten years in the wireless industry I found the perfect fit, a company equally as passionate about conservation and sustainability, Casella. Over the last decade I’ve helped everyone from individual homeowners, to municipalities in excess of thirty thousand residents become more environmentally, and economically sustainable.
