About Jim Everett
Professional Background Information: Jim Began his career in at Executive Engineering Consultants, Inc, where he focused on recruiting for early semiconductor companies across the U.S. His clients included Fairchild Semiconductor, National Semiconductor, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) as well as several smaller semiconductor startups. Jim joined AMD, Austin as AMD was in the early stages of establishing their X86 microprocessor design team. Jim was tasked with building a world class organization to compete with Intel who was the only X86 processor supplier in the world at that time. Jim left AMD after 10 years, where the Austin site grew from 600 people to 5600 people. One of Jim’s major accomplishments was recruiting Dirk Meyer who at that time had architected the fastest microprocessor in the world while at DEC/Intel, to AMD. Jim also oversaw building an architecture team that architected the Opteron series of processors which overtook Intel’s position as the fastest processor in the world for PC applications. Dirk would later become AMD’s Chief Executive Officer. Jim left AMD and specialized in TA for technology start-ups. Jim’s role as a consultant was to assist early life semiconductor start-ups build their teams. Jim was asked to join the start-up team of NextIO as their Head of Human Resources. Jim spent several years building the Human Resources infrastructure as well as overseeing all recruitment efforts, reporting to the CEO. After 8 years at NextIO, Jim was asked to join another technology startup, Terralliance Technologies. Jim joined the company as the head of Global Human Resources where he focused heavily on recruiting in many parts of the world including Canada, Europe, Africa, the U.S. and Asia Pacific. Jim then was asked to join Samsung Austin Research Center to assist in their early-stage design team startup which focused on CPU and GPU chips for Samsung smartphones Jim was asked to join Everspin Technologies, Inc, in 2015 to help this struggling MRAM technology company with all facets of Human Resources, but was primarily focused on culture attainment as well as recruiting, beginning with executive level positions as the Board of Directors was trying to revitalize this 8-year-old start-up. Jim also worked on the team to prepare Everspin for their IPO. Everspin went public in 2016. In 2021 Jim was asked to join Ericsson to handle the Austin site Talent Acquisition for a new back-end design team. Over time those responsibilities expanded to Talent Acquisition for the front-end design team, as well as software engineering.
