About Jim Helmore

I am a children’s author, freelance writer and creative consultant for children’s publishing brands. I have written many award-winning stories, including international picture book hit THE SNOW LION for Simon and Schuster and the STRIPY HORSE picture book and baby book series for Egmont Publishing. My work has also been published by Oxford University Press and Faber & Faber. As well as working on my own projects, I write for other characters and have competed two large collections of Peter Rabbit extension stories and related activity content for Penguin Random House. PETER RABBIT: TALES FROM THE COUNTRYSIDE, 2022 and TITLE TBC Publishing 2024 I have also developed several personalised picture book projects for Wonderbly, including DREAM BIG, LITTLE ONE, 2022 and PRINCESS YOU, 2023 With more than twenty years experience in the licensing industry, working for large international companies and small boutique agencies, I have an in-depth understanding of the licensing world, and have worked on many established literary properties, including ROALD DAHL, MIFFY, THE MR MEN & LITTLE MISS and RUPERT BEAR. In my role as a freelance licensing creative consultant, I can advise on creative direction, and manage the production of materials and assets necessary for licensees to maximise a brand's potential.
