Jim Hoffman Biography I am a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I have worked in addiction recovery since 1975. • From 1975 to 1979 I worked at Today Inc. as a Night Counselor and Senior Night Counsel. • For a year and a half, from 1979 to 1980, I worked as a Detox Counselor at Livengrin Foundation. • From 1980 to 1982 I studied Registered Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. • From 1982 to 1984 I worked as a Registered Nurse in Reykjavik Iceland and lived in Copenhagen Denmark. • I returned to the Philadelphia area and worked in Behavioral Health until 1986 when I started work at Seabrook House as an Inpatient Therapist. • For a year, 1988 to 1989, I worked as an Administrator and Director of Nursing at Maryville Inpatient Rehab. I founded Crystal Associates in 1989. Crystal Associates has provided Intensive Outpatient and Outpatient Treatment Services, Intoxicated Driver Resources, Consulting Services to Healthcare Facilities and Industry, Co-Occurring Services, Mental Health Services, Adjudicated Services, Consulting Services to the State of New Jersey and Training Programs for Addiction Professionals. I have a special interest in working with Compulsive Gamblers. For a decade I served as a Board Member of the Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey and on the Board of the American Compulsive Gambling Council Certification Board. I am a member of the Association of Professionals Treating Problem Gambling. In addition to my Counseling, at times I have worked on a part time, or per diem basis, as a Registered Nurse in Behavioral Health, Homecare and Hospice. I am now focusing and offering consulting services to agencies with an emphasis on staff development and training.
