About Jim Loper

The best team in the world will fail if they are working on the wrong problem. My organization was facing consistent transportation delays getting security teams deployed overseas because the shipper was having trouble finding sufficient heavy lift aircraft. The “fix” was to plan for delay, tying up resources waiting for a flight. I challenged the team to take a new approach and encouraged them to be open to anything and everything. A fresh perspective led to a simple solution that seems obvious in hindsight: warehouse common use bulk equipment on site. Reducing individual mission load size allowed for a wider array of transport options eliminating delays, with the added benefit of significantly reduced total cost. Successes like these have taught me the value of building teams fueled by diversity and the imperative to boldly challenge the status quo.
