About Jim Milner

As the assistant in a two-man IT department at a small hospital, I manage the website, provide technical support for end-users, and generally do whatever needs to be done (whether or not it is actually IT-related). My background in construction and maintenance also helps me to work closely with the maintenance department in areas such as electronic door locks, computerized HVAC controls, facility security, and hazmat decontamination. I care deeply about my community and all aspects of emergency preparedness, which led to my involvement in both the Chamber of Commerce and our county Search and Rescue team. I continue to actively develop my skills, both on the job and in my volunteer efforts. I have earned an amateur radio license and completed many DHS independent study courses. Due to my ongoing efforts to learn more about emergency management and to help the hospital with preparedness, I was tasked with writing and annually updating our facility's emergency operations plan.
