About Jim Murphy

As Principal of Sandford Park School, I am committed to leading a community where every student is challenged, supported, and inspired within an inclusive, non-denominational ethos. My leadership is rooted in a belief that high standards in teaching and learning must be underpinned by respect, wellbeing, and collaboration. Previously Assistant Principal 1 and Head of Music, I have broad experience in policy development, school self-evaluation, mentoring early-career teachers, and leading whole-school improvement. Beyond Sandford Park School, I contributed to teacher education as a School Placement Supervisor and Guest Lecturer with Trinity College Dublin, supporting future educators through observation, feedback, and academic guidance. My vision is to foster a school culture that is reflective, ambitious, and outward-looking, where students flourish academically, creatively, and personally, and where staff are empowered to grow as leaders. At the heart of my leadership is a commitment to calm, purposeful, and values-driven education, preparing young people to succeed in whatever path they choose.
