About Jim Osborn

After completing his college coursework in Secondary English Education, Jim began working full-time in Information Technology at the University of Wyoming, overseeing student employees, documentation, and training. Following the murder of Matthew Shepard in 1998, Jim also spent time traveling to colleges and universities speaking about hate, violence, and GLBTQ issues. In 2008 Jim decided to make his passion for diversity his profession, and began working for the Office of Diversity and Employment Practices. As an EEO and Diversity Specialist, he conducted the Sexual Harassment Prevention training for managers and supervisors at UW, helped with EEO paperwork review for academic and administrative positions, and reviewed complaints of civil rights discrimination and sexual harassment. When the department reorganized in 2015, he became the Manager of Investigations, overseeing complaint reviews and conducting training on sexual harassment and discrimination. He also proudly continues his work as a public speaker. In November 2016 Jim was named the interim Title IX Coordinator, and the position became permanent in May of 2017.
