About Jim Paulson

My passion for continuous improvement has led my career through a journey of the optometric profession. Beginning with myself, I continue to learn and advance the level of care I deliver to each and every patient. When I became an owner of my first practice, I expanded my education to include learning business principles such as: accounting, marketing, sales, productivity and leadership. The next level of continuous improvement was to invest in the learning, growth and development of the doctors and team members at Art of Eyecare. This, never-ending investment again, raises the level of care received by our patients. The journey moved on to other communities with the acquisition of eight practices from retiring optometrists. The development of these practices followed similar paths of updating knowledge of the team and the technology of eye care delivery. Further expanding optometric improvement, I have coached and mentored other optometrists in order to help them succeed with their practice goals. I continued past other individual practices to improve to the profession as a whole with leadership positions as the President of the Northwest Optometric Society and the Chair of the Legislative Affairs Committee for the Pennsylvania Optometric Association. Whether I am sitting across from a patient, a colleague or a state senator, the goal is the same - create improvement.
