About Jim Reeve

I joined the faculty of the University of Tennessee in 1980 after completing his MBA from Drake University and the PhD from Oklahoma State University. At the University of Tennessee Jim was a member of the MBA and EMBA core faculty. I was a member of the Lean Enterprise Institute and Supply Chain Certification faculty. Jim also directed the Principles of Accounting courses at UT. I have won eight teaching awards at the University of Tennessee. I am also part of the author team for the market leading Warren/Reeve/Duchac series of accounting principles textbooks (Cengage). My research interests are in the areas of performance management, the lean enterprise, cost management, and supply chain management. I have published over 40 articles in academic and professional journals, including Supply Chain Management Review, Journal of Cost Management, Journal of Management Accounting Research, and the Accounting Review. I was a judge for the USA Today/RIT Quality Cup Competition. I have consulted or provided training around the world for a wide variety of organizations including, Boeing, Procter and Gamble, Honeywell, Freddie Mac, AMOCO, Lockheed Martin, Coca Cola, Sony Corp, and Hershey Foods. I am presently applying what I have taught to a number of internet start-up and not-for-profit entities. I also have a strong interest in trading and investing. I work with faith-based colleagues in this effort.
