He is the former CTO of Advanced Fibre Communications - the company that supplied the first large scale Fiber To The Home network in the US as Verizon FiOS. His background is in Corporate Planning, Mergers and Acquisitions, Marketing, Sales and Operations. He has held positions at large companies like Siemens as well as startups like Red Condor. He has served as an endowment Board Member for the Masters in Engineering program at Sonoma State University. This program was the first Engineering program North of the Golden Gate Bridge and is a public-private partnership to grow the High Technology in the North Bay. Jim is a recognized expert in Broadband Access and have given expert testimony to both Members of Congress and the FCC. He have spoken publicly on these topics dozens of times both in the US and around the World. Jim has worked with the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations on issues of IT Security.
