About Jim Varner

Working as a Restaurant Superintendent for Herman/Stewart Construction over the last 25 years has given me extensive knowledge of overseeing commercial job sites and immense field experience. Out on the field, I am a representative for both my company and the Owner. I handle a great amount of pressure and responsibility for supervising work done by subcontractors, insuring quality standards and maintaining a safe work environment. I am the eyes and ears for project managers and make sure the job is being completed correctly and efficiently. Safety on the field is incredibly important to me. I have completed 4 10hr OSHA courses and 1 30hr OSHA course. In addition to those, I also have first aid/CPR training. I am very confident in my time management skills,organization and conflict resolution ability. I collaborate well with others and can take direction. Overall I have 30 years experience in the construction field ranging from Laborer to Carpenter to Superintendent and I have worked construction in 45 States across the US. I have been involved in major projects such as AT & T, Bar Louie, Nando's Peri Peri, PF Chang's, Wolf Gang Puck, Phillips Seafood, Wood Ranch BBQ, Hail and Hog, GATSBY, Yardbird, Blackwall Barn and Lodge to name a few. Although my main focus is supervising restaurant job sites, I also have experience with retail and hotels.
