About Jime Lemoire

Galang nguruindhau from where I live, and Gurumbah bigi from the lands where I work. I am a Canadian-Australian citizen with 20 years of leadership experience in registered education, counselling psychology and public health. I've built enduring relationships through efficacious communication, defined by a confident ability to facilitate honest engagement. Reputation of integrity developed through reliable ability to facilitate active listening and solution focused decisions that align with strategic Values.Currently the school counsellor at Hymba Yumba (Listening and Learning Place). Connection to Country, community, culture and elders is central to all thinking at our First Nations school. Therapeutic practice includes therapy dog Giga and formal assistance animal certification. Early evidence of innovative practice includes journal publication of a novel trauma-informed approach to person-centred psychotherapy with marginalised LBGTI adolescents (2005). Executive leadership demonstrated as implementation lead on several human research trials that responded to State public health priorities, and co-author on several peer-reviewed publications aimed at developing evidence-based innovation. Highlights include having a home HIV Self Testing education resource included in the 2018 World Health Organisation HIV Self Testing Implementation Toolkit. I was also the founding Executive Program Manager of RAPID, and project management lead on introducing community point-of-care rapid testing to Queensland for HIV, syphilis, chlamydia and gonorrhoea. Volunteer experience includes my time as a teacher with Canadian UTS students on international development education experiences in Zambia (HIV) and Ecuador (First Nations/environment). These transformative career moments informed my retirement goal of participating in volunteer field work with Médecins Sans Frontières, addressing health disparities and supporting humanitarian global citizenship.
