Specialism in the survey, assessment, repair, conservation and management of historic buildings focusing on Building Conservation, Traditional Methods of Construction, Building Pathology, Building Maintenance and Defect Investigation & Diagnosis. Additional areas of interest include Project Administration, Statutory Compliance, Planning & Building Control, Fire Safety and Health & Safety. Chartered since 2008, my professional experience covers the broad range of the Building Surveying discipline including pre purchase building surveys, vendors surveys, technical due diligence surveys, fire safety audits, measured building surveys, condition surveys, defect analysis, specification writing, schedules of work, planning and construction drawings, tender and contract administration, dilapidations schedules, opinions on compliance, planned preventative maintenance schedules, sinking fund projections, reinstatement valuations and land registry mapping for a wide variety of commercial and residential property types. My key interest is the Historic Built Environment having specialised in this sector since my Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Building Repair & Conservation at Trinity College Dublin in 2008. More recently, I completed the MSc Conservation of the Historic Environment (CHE) at the University of Reading, Berkshire, United Kingdom. I am member of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (MSCSI), Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), SPAB Ireland, Building Limes Forum Ireland, Irish Georgian Society and am part of the SCSI Conservation Working Group (CWG) and RICS Building Conservation Advisory Group (BCAG).
