As the Interim Chief Executive Officer at Voluntary Action South Lanarkshire (VASLan), I am dedicated to empowering and supporting the third sector across the region. VASLan serves as the Third Sector Interface (TSI) for South Lanarkshire, facilitating collaboration among community organisations, social enterprises, and volunteers to enhance community well-being. With over two decades of experience in leadership roles within the third sector, I have a proven track record of implementing strategic initiatives that drive organisational growth and community impact. Prior to joining VASLan, I served as CEO of FARE Scotland, where I expanded services in schools and developed sector-specific employability training programmes and supported the community with various other services all coproduced by the people who utilised them. At VASLan, I am committed to fostering strong partnerships and advocating for the essential role of the third sector in community development. Our recent 'Keep The Beat Alive' campaign highlights the indispensable contributions of charities and community groups, calling for greater recognition, smarter funding, and enhanced collaboration with public sector partners. I am passionate about creating sustainable solutions that address local needs and enhance the quality of life for residents in South Lanarkshire. By leveraging my extensive experience and the collective strengths of our dedicated team and working in partnership with other organisations, I aim to lead VASLan in championing the third sector's vital role in building resilient and thriving communities.
