Background
About Jing du
Our research focuses on mechanics and materials with an emphasis on bio-related materials and structures. It combines experimental characterization of structures with analytical and computational models that enabled the prediction of mechanical behaviors across multiple length scales. Our long-term research goal is to improve human health and well-being through the development of new materials, the design of new structures and devices, and the improvement of mechanics-mediated medical treatments.Research positions are available in my research group for undergraduate students, graduate students and visiting scholars. A background in materials, solid mechanics, fracture mechanics and/or biomechanics is preferable. Prior experience with biological material (tissue/organ/cell) is a plus.
