About Jingwei Mao

As a Denison University graduate with a BA in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, I have a strong foundation in both quantitative and qualitative research and analysis, as well as writing and communication skills. I am fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Cantonese. Currently, I am working as a legal intern at the Orange County District Attorney's Office, where I assist prosecutors in the Major Fraud Unit with trial preparation, case review, and legal memoranda. I am also a Stand Together Fellowship recipient and a participant in the Koch Internship Program, where I learn about the principles of human progress and the bottom-up mechanism, and apply them to my work at a non-governmental organization. Additionally, I am a Second Amendment Project intern at the Independence Institute, where I conduct comprehensive research on the impact of gun legislation on crime rates, and proofread and format amicus briefs for the Supreme Court. Prior to my current poistions, I worked as a legal assistant in a private law firm, responsible for contract drafting and reviewing. I am passionate about pursuing a career in law and policy, and I am eager to leverage my language, research, and writing skills to make a positive difference in the world. I am looking for opportunities to learn from experienced professionals, challenge myself, and contribute to meaningful projects and causes.
