About Jiri Madej

I am an expert in business management of hotels, with vast experience in building and managing complex financial structures, regardless of industry. While being able to centre on micro economics, I view business with a macro view and have a strong commercial sense when it comes to improving a business bottom line. Besides having a solid understanding of P&L management, I am hands-on by being creative in marketing, driving sales as my number one priority, and finding practical solutions to complex challenges. Originally I have started my career as an IT expert, and have grown my career up to board level with a local chain of hotels in the Czech Republic, and also with the Maltese based Corinthia Group of Companies which is the operator of the Corinthia and Ramada Plaza brands in EMEA. Further experience has included hotel opening & start-up projects, as well as turn-around projects of 5-star luxury resorts, luxury historic castles, and medical spa hotels in Russia, the Slovak and Czech Republics, and the Maldives. I am married with a son, and live in Prague, Czech Republic. Key skills and attributes are strong leadership and communication skills, excellent and current network of international sales agents for hotels, vast know-how in financial management in a two-level system of governance, full understanding of local accountancy per the Czech code and the Uniform System of Accounts, managing cost controlling, budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, purchasing, auditing, receivable management, operation, sales and IT management.
