Dr. Long’s research program focuses on the molecular and genetic epidemiology of various cancers. She has authored or co-authored more than 300 papers. Many of these papers were published in high impact journals, such as Nature Genetics, Journal of the National Cancer Institute, Nature Communication, Cancer Research, and others. She has been consistently well-funded by NIH since 2009. Currently, she is the PI/MPI for multiple large R01 studies. The major theme of her research program is to identify novel genetic and epigenetic markers, as well as microbiota for cancer risk to understand the mechanisms of cancer development.
