About Jitendra Panwar

I have completed my Doctoral degree in the area of Mycorrhizal Biotechnology in the year from Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur. After Ph.D, I moved to the Division of Soil-Water-Plant Relationship, Central Arid Zone Research Institute (ICAR), Jodhpur for Post-Doctoral studies (June to January 2003), where I worked in the area of Microbiology, Plant Physiology and Soil Fertility. Subsequently, I executed the DST Young Scientist Project awarded to me by the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi, India from February 2003 to September 2005. I joined the Department of Biological Sciences, BITS Pilani, Pilani campus as Lecturer in October 2005, became Assistant Professor in January 2006, Associate Professor in February 2013, and Professor in July 2018. I had served as Head of the Department from September 2012 to August 2014; and worked as Associate Dean, Academic - Graduate Studies and Research Division (AGSRD), BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus from August 2018 to August 2022. I have a total 27 years of teaching and research experience as of the year 2025. I am recipient of prestigious Visiting Professor Fellowship award by Indian National Science Academy (INSA) for the year 2011 as well as 2016. I have successfully implemented several research projects in the field of Microbial Biotechnology and Nanobiotechnology, funded by DST, ICAR-NAIP, Aditya Birla Group (ABG), UGC, DST-Nano Mission, Aditya Birla Science & Technology Company Pvt. Ltd.(ABSTCPL), DST-ASACODER and DBT. As in January 2025, I have 146 scientific publications as research papers in journals (74), book chapters (17), conference proceedings (55) of International repute as well as one Indian Patent to his credit.
