About Jitendra Varma

Jitendra Varma is an eminent Ex-Librarian of Indian and foreign universities. He has more than thirty years of experience in teaching Library and information science and heading key departments in famous Libraries of India and abroad like JNU Library, IGNOU Library, NDIM Library. He was consultant in many library software development Companies like Kaptron private limited India, LION, USA, etc. He worked as a consultant to automate many Libraries in Delhi after his retirement from JNU Library using Winisis Software and MS-Access This included the libraries of Lead India New Delhi, IGNOU Library, Zakir Hussein Center Library, JNU, Science Policy Library, JNU etc He has written various books and articles on Library services in India and abroad. This includes "Colon Thesaurus of Social Science Terms" in the year 1992, which he intends rto revise thoghrouhly. Nobody attempted to use thesaurus construction as per faceted classification approach Mr Varma was a student of Library Science in Vikram University, Ujjain, where Prof Ranganathan taught, and he learned from him a lot Specialties: Automation and Outsourcing of Library processes, Designing a Common OPAC on Web for all University Libraries in India under the banner of VILS.
