About Jivan Sidhu

I am a graduate of Brunel University, where I studied Global Challenges with a focus on Social Cohesion. My academic journey centered on understanding the divides within communities, exploring local, national, and international threats to societal well-being, and gaining insight into the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how we are actively working to achieve them. Professionally, I have gained hands-on experience in various humanitarian and development projects. I contributed to disaster response efforts in Somerset during the 2014 floods, supported Syrian refugee families with food distributions along the Lebanese border in 2018, and collaborated on a sustainable energy project in Zambia in 2019. More recently, I've worked across The Gambia, Botswana, and Eswatini on development initiatives aimed at improving access to essential resources in remote communities, including water systems and menstrual hygiene education. Sustainability and community ownership are at the forefront of these projects. I am passionate about making a tangible impact in addressing global challenges, and I’m always eager to connect with like-minded professionals working towards positive change.
