About Jj Akin

Philosophy of Education I believe that all students are capable of learning and achieving at a high level. This occurs when the school community in which they gain knowledge is well managed, creating conditions that offer multiple avenues to stimulate students to pursue their aspirations. All students intrinsically want to succeed. All students long to be safe. All students thrive on human connections. All students yearn for achievement. I believe a bond that is formed between a student and teacher is the most powerful force. That bond fabricates endless opportunity. Galvanizes spirit. Invigorates grit. I believe that all students do not learn at the same rate or through the same exact delivery. Administrators must be instructional leaders that provide cutting edge research, educational awareness methods, and best practices to support teachers so they may educate, mentor, and serve all students. Teachers must have the ability to meet students where they are to get them to where they need to be. I believe teachers should create an environment that encourages collaboration, communication and the use of technology to provide students with 21st century skills. These skills allow students to be adaptable, flexible to find triumph in any situation. The environment should be safe, one that fosters success, encourages “outside of the box” thinking, but allows for failure; one that promotes fine-tuning the process of learning. An environment that calls out value in failure and then extends and supports the situation to make a stronger, more honed, resilient student is a must.
